The praire's are actually kind of boring to ride sometimes. Everything is straight, and layed out in a box pattern. Each road is about... what 10 km apart? So you can essentially ride in straight lines for the entire day. Assuming there is no natural obstruction (read lake). No hills to climb, no trees to skirt, just wide open fields, and straight lines to hit.

Congrats on the new bike!!! That kicks totalass! I like the yellow... that was the color of the Superhawk I wanted to get...

Well you did get the new ride. Right on. And the yellow looks good on that bike.

Scona is a funny place. I tryed to buy a trike from them once, and the they would even let me sit on it in the showroom. Even if I sat on it holding twice the list price in cash in my hand, which I tryed. United Cycle was just up Whyte Ave back then, and they let me ride a new Quadracer out back before I even made an offer on it. I bought the Quad. And hated Scona for years.

Then I started shopping around for honda parts one day. I went in and found a fairly decent and willing staff with one of the better stock supplies in town. And prices always just a bit lower than any other place. Same for accessories... IF they have them in stock, selection is not the best in that area.

All I can figure is that the bike sales and parts sales are not just 2 different departments, but inhabit 2 different universes.

Very nice bike. Sorry about the hassles you had to go thru but at least it will be some time before you get to do it over again.

Yay! Way to go, Jeff. I'm glad you're getting your 599. Sorry about the bad service. It's too bad their lack of customer service caused you to miss getting the black one, but the yellow looks pretty good!

Glad to hear the great news. Nice to see another naked bike bought. Look forward to hearing about the fun times you have on it.

I'm not really how sure it's going to remain naked for... my Dad is a unique character. He'll NEVER get on my bike, he doesn't even want one of his own. But for some reason it is exceptionally important to him that I get a windshield for it. So important in fact that he's willing to buy it for me. It's going to be my birthday present in fact. Despite the fact that my B-day is mid-August. The fact I don't really want a windshield for it is irrelevant. It's something that I should have.
For christmas I had asked for a digital speedo/tach/clock/trip meter. Cost about $100 Canadian. He got me a windshield worth about $130. That I never bothered to put on the bike. It went with the Savage, uninstalled when I sold it.
I know that a windshield doesn't make it not a naked, but it does change it enough to bother me. I don't know, I should appreciate the fact he wants to get it for me, and that he isn't on my case to not bike at all after the accident. But it does bother me that he's more concerned with the way he thinks I should set up my bike then I am. It's not like he's ever going to ride it....

Thats what dads do.I think he proably thinks windshield wll make the bike safer.There are some great screens out there for the Hornet plus you appreciate when you on a long ride
