If you get things taken from you youll a fool. put it in your checked in luggage. I used to take my guns with me all the time. Before and After 9-11. You put them in a locked box, declare them and follow the rules no problem. Though i did lose my cooking(for beer making) thermometer in my checked in luggage once. told me the mercury was dangerous on the plane, whatever.
