Hello all, I have been riding bikes for awhile, i started out riding dirtbikes and gave that up due to funds i belive i owned my first bike at 11 and stopped riging at 16. I picked it back up last spring bought myself a 82 yami 650 maxim nice starter bike. I just had my new bike delivered this past saturday (day before b-day gift to me) a 07 v star 1100 classic, beautiful bike nice and comfy so far. So at the moment I have two bikes untill spring and put the 650 on the market.
Last year it was a major fight with my wife about riding direct quote"i never want to hear you talk about it, i never want to ride on it if you die im not going to your funeral" boy i love her

well after two weeks she wanted to go for a ride and ever since then she asks to go for rides to nowhere just to ride

but i bought the bike to learn on and it is very small as we both are bigger people so here comes the 1100

plus the motorcycle saves me a ton in gas as this past summer with gas 3.15 give or take

I am happy to hear your wife decided to love the bike too. Play together....stay together...
Maybe you can show us your bike when we ride to NY later.

I had the bike when I met my wife, and she liked riding pillion from the start. In fact, one of the criteria she has for a future bike is that it can haul both of our lard-butts.
Actually, she surprised me this winter...when the subject of our retirement (way, WAY off in the future) came up, she said she'd like to tour the country on a Goldwing (or somesuch) instead of in a Winnebago.

God, I love her sometimes!

thought of that, she has told me that she wants to learn but she is only 4'11" and is about 4 inches short of touching the ground. I had her sit on a new viarago and she barely touched the ground with her tippytoes so i am looking into a honda rebel or eliminator 125 as they are a little lower. I was going to sell the 650 and buy her a used bike like one of those!!!!
Maybe you can show us your bike when we ride to NY later.

Here's my Oldman's Bike.
Set up for daily riding....
And set up for longer rides.....
The very definition of a 'Sport Touring Bike'..... and a catagory that isn't in the poll....

Hi guys, I'm xsyamahadg, but most people just call me XS. The XS comes from the fact that I like to collect and restore the old XS650 Yamahas from the 70s and early 80s. I am 63 years old and this summer will mark 50 years of riding and wrenching motorcycles for me. I am a dyed in the wool Yamaha man and proud of it. I live in N.E. Ohio and spend most of my summers exploring the back roads of Ohio, I host a web site called "Ride Ohio" which is dedicated to the riders of Ohio who love to explore Ohio as I do. At the moment my daily rider is an 03 650 V-Star, but I am looking at an 07 Yamaha Road Star and will most likely buy it if I can get together on price with the dealer. Glad to be a part of Totalmotorcycle's Yamaha group. XS
