I never even thought about trying to enhance the pics.

Aw what the hell, I did it. I put my bike up for trade on craigslist for a dual sport. I'll at least see what, if anything, I'll get offered.

I decided to quit wondering if I want one and just make an attempt to get one. So what if I end up not liking it Ill just get something else. right?
Right.
I knew I wasn't going to stick with the GS forever, even though she is a great little bike. I just figure I need to give everything a try at least once, so here I go.

Maybe Ill ride a dual for a couple of years, then get a big ole' fat arse cruiser.
Then I can trade it up for a GSX-R 1k 2k9 SBK SS RR double ought xx 929.
Gotta try everything at least once.

Meh. I probably won't find a good deal anyway.

what were you looking at getting? I rode a DR650 and it was a lot of fun. Very torquey with more suspension travel than I was used to. I'd love to try out a KLR 650....someday.

KLR is at the top of my list but I am willing to entertain any offer thrown at me. The DR is definitely on the list, as well as an XR and maybe even an XT.
I would prefer somthing over 400cc for the road trips.

No luck so far with the bike trading (exactly what I expected) though I have got a few offers to buy it from me. I am seriously considering selling it but I am really scared to do that. Cash has a real hard time staying in my pocket and I'm afraid I will end up spending a few bucks here a few bucks there until I can't afford a bike.
I know I know self control and all that jazz. It's just hard when the income is already so low.

Oh well maybe If the right price comes along I'll take it.

On another note, I had a chance to ride a nightster yesterday! I have to admit, that is a sharp looking bike. It had the shorty exhaust (or somthing like that) and the heat shields were painted to match the tank. matte black or flat or whatever. Those things are definitely a hoot to romp around on. Very impressed with the low down grunt of it. (even though it does FEEL faster then it is really going.) It handles.......well I almost scraped the peg just making a simple left hand turn onto a side street. It turns in a lot slower then I am used to, but I guess that is something you have to get a feel for.
I don't think I will be buying one anytime soon, but it sure was fun. A little cramped feeling, even with the forward controls that just got put on, but very fun. I had a smile on face and that is what really counts.

No dual sport for me.
I have decided to put off selling or trading my bike for now.
Instead, I am going to just change up the gs a little bit.
First in line (and already ordered) are a set of bikemaster superbike bars.

Some other things I want to do are, cartridge emulators for front forks, a head light conversion from a single to a double and steel braided brake lines.

The brake lines are at the top of my list because the stock ones are mighty squishy feeling and are over ten years old! No visible cracks that I can see, but I think it's about time for replacements.

The emulators are needed pretty badly, but I can deal with the stockers for now. And MAYBE I might even get a stiffer spring for the forks too.

So I am a little late posting about my new handlebars.
I ordered the bikemaster superbike bars for me bike. I have had them for over a week now, but it wasn't until yesterday that I really got to test them out.

So after about 3 hours of riding yesterday these are my thoughts on the bars.
They are almost 2 inches lower then stock. Doesn't sound like much but it makes a huge difference. A lot more pressure is on the arms and hands now. I am going to give my body plenty of time to get the proper muscles built up for the new position, but as of now I am a little sore.
If I really cant handle the new position I will just put the old bars back on.

So, on to the ride. I rode with my cousin and his friend (i usually ride alone) and it was a little different then riding alone but it wasn't bad. I am not used to having to ride as slow as they were going. But that comes with the territory when riding with someone that is riding a rigid. They like to just cruise,often going under the speed limit.

It is a pretty neat bike, I didn't get pics of it but the tank has green pin striping on it, and the seat is black and green tiger stripes. Really cool bike, just not my style though. Oh, it's a 70's yamaha xs in case ya havent figured it out. That is my cousins freinds bike.

Brand new nightster, with a new head light... I don't really like the new head light myself. But man has that thing got some low down stump pullin torque. I am going to try to get a video or some pics of him doing wheelies on it if I can......Yes, it will do a wheelie. I didn't believe him. But he did one in front of my house. Not just picking up the front wheel a little either, it was a full on wheelie.
Anyway, I had fun riding with people for a change but I still prefer going by myself where I can ride at my own pace.

I guess I need to find someone who rides more like me.

I finally got some pictures of my brothers project.
It's A Yamaha SRX 250 that I sold to him for $1. I bought it for $500 when I was 17. I didn't ride it anymore after my friend wrecked it. Sorry sonofabitch.
Anyway, my bro decided it needed a little attention and asked if he could take it home.

So I said sure, take it. By the time he was about half way done with it I decided to just let him have it. He put a lot of work into it, so I guess he deserves it. Plus it was just going to rust away in my shop anyway.

The seat is being being upholstered right now, so he put a piece of corkboard and wrapped it in a piece of material he had so he could ride itto my house. I am going to replace the fork seals for him.

Not at all comfortable.




He says he is going to paint the gas tank soon. It looks really awesome the way it is, but he wants to bondo the dents so he has to paint it.

I thought the same thing when I first saw the 80's FJ, Hey! thats my bikes big brother!

The seat is awful! I'm bigger then my brother, so when I ride it I sit more on the fender. Talk about an atomic wedgie!
Fortunately it is temporary.
