I always fill mine while im sitting on it, thus to make sure the bike is level so I get as much juice in the tank as possible, other wise, i have found alot of servo driveways are uneven and ya end up only putting in 90% of what is possible.
That works really well until the day you accidently spill gas down the tank into your lap. Gas makes a pretty nasty rash.
it wont go in your lap unless you're not tall enough to be off the seat while standing over the bike. I do it this way all the time.
He said he sits on the seat.
maybe he should try standing.
My bike's seat height is about an inch taller than my inseam. I just kickstand it and don't worry about the extra little bit. The way I see it, if it is full while it is on the sidestand, if I fill it up all the way when it is upright, and then set it on the stand again, it might overflow.

I guess the answer would be to ride it until it goes back down, but I normally fill up my tank at the end of a ride.

we have a local convienence store with gas pumps where you have to pre-pay for ur gas purchace before they turn the pump on, then you have to walk back out to pump the gas, they do this cause they have too many crackheads that drive off without paying for gas, I understand, but its hard to judge how much money you give the clerk and how much money its going to take to fill up the tank in ur bike, like if you give them $5, the pump will stop at $5 before you fill up, then if you give them $10 and ur bike only took $5 to fill it up, they have a hard time giving you $5 back, they say the rule is they keep the money and its my loss that I made a mistake not knowing how much money that was needed to fill up, and the store isnot responsible for knowing how much every tank needs to fill up, so im cool, I just tell them if they don't give me my $5 back I will just pump $5 worth of gasoline on the ground, then they will have to clean it up.

OK, I've often suspected it, but now I know you're just trolling. No functionional human being can possibly be as stupid as you make yourself out to be. It's got to be an act to churn up responses on the forum. You have officially departed the realm of plausibility.

That has never happened to me, at any gas station anywhere. And I've driven all up and down the east cost (I95 mostly) and I always get my change back, no hassle.

You sir, are a crazy donkey and probably didn't give them $10, and when you go in for your "$5" back, they do not wish to give it to you for they do not owe it to you.

why is this such a common question.....

insert gas nozzle, fill until it shuts off, pull nozzle out a bit, fill a bit more, repeat untill its full, or close to it.

Why are so many too lazy to actually get off their bike to fuel?

Thanks for the help.... I searched for this type of question but didn't find it.

I really appreciate you not making a newbie feel even more stupid. :notworthy:
