dablade, Thanks for the tip, hopefully I would never have to use it again, but I should have thought of it, when I was a much younger macho guy I used to use that technic to move little cars up to the side walk as a prank, I dont know why I did not think of it.

Marauder wrote:Layed it down doing about 15mph, I hit some gravel during a corner and before you know.... No real damage to the bike just a scuffed up gas tank, bent clutch lever and footpeg. As for myself I'm no worse for the wear thanks to some quality gear. Dress for the CRASH not for the ride.
Dropped mine about two weeks ago doing 1MPH in a gas station. Woman didn't like the lane she was waiting in so she decided to cut me off just as I was pulling in.
Scrapped up me knee and banged my elbo. Just now getting back to normal. (if you can call this normal.

I had my first (and hopefully only) collision on April 21. 2 fractured ribs due to impact of the handlebars, but my gear prevented anything worse.
The bike will be ready to ride before I will.

Another thing that will get you is an oils slick when you're coming to a stop. I hit one once that put me and the bike on the ground. The bike didn't when It was supposed to so I hit the curb low speed and down she went. I had a camera around my neck and it broke 2 ribs cause it ended up between me and the ground. Ouch.

"HECK"?, I gave her hell. And what does she say? "I didn't do anything". Then she takes off as I'm hopping around on one foot.

Laid mine down last week coming out of driveway, mild fracture of shoulder, could have been a lot worse if not for gear I was wearing! my tank was scratched and slightly dented will need repair.

Laid the Vulcan down for the first time, I was riding in bikini briefs on a lost bet. Doing about 25 or 30 mph. Luckily no damage to me or the bike.
