I had a Chevy Astro company car, and it was excellent. Drove it several years with no problems. So when I retired I bought a '97 Safari, and all was well until it got about 80k on it, then emission device problems, big bucks on 2 brake jobs , and a rear Dutch door that leaked like mad.
Surprisingly, in spite of the clumsy handling and mediocre gas mileage, I really liked it, and it bothered me to trade it in, still needing $600 worth of front end work, according to my mechanic.
Too bad GM never decided to address some of its weak points, it rode nicely and held a lot of stuff. It had the potential to be a real contender.
Maybe one of these days if I ever wear out the Sienna...Nah, never happen.

My grandparents and my uncle have the astro vans, or safari (same difference) they seem to like them. The only bad thing Ive heard happeneing is my uncles cacking out down in the states some where, and since its all wheel drive, he needed to use a flat bed to get it back to canada (I dont remember the reasoning behind bringing it back as opposed to getting it fixed down there though) It is back on the road, and hes had as long as I can remember...

It's around $2.55 in Reno. I bicycle to work so it doesn't really bother me. The little gas I use on the weekends isn't enough to make a difference no matter what the price.

I'm feeling wealthy today, so I am driving the ten miles to town in my pickup. One gallon to get there, one gallon to get back=$5.36.

ruthlessly inefficient truck, but it probably works out cheaper than buying a new economical one, and taking the devaluation hit...

It's a 1979, considered a collectible due to it's age, and has had considerable restoration done. True, very inefficient, big v-8 engine 4:11 rear end gears=thirsty beast. Most large vehicles are gas-hogs, though, new or old.

I know mines allways thirsty.. and shes newish (03) but those V8's anint exactly the most fuel eficient things in the world.. oh well, I do like the power though... 96.5 cents per litre... *sigh*

We're paying anywhere from $2.00 to $2.50 here in Michigan, all depending on the direction of the wind, average temperature, and number of hairs on a cricket's "O Ring".

95.5 Cents per litre...just saw it... That way they will tell us, look how we lowered the gas prices before May run... theres no conpiracy.. geesh..
