Yup, there's a brand new idea....
NOT!!!
Thank you. Somebody posts this every now and then and I still haven't figured out what makes this ordinary gyrocopter a motorcycle. The fact that the guy thinks he can get it licensed for the street with a four foot diameter, uncaged meat grinder on the back is pretty amusing.
When he landed he folded up and bolted down the top and back propellers.
I'll stay on the ground, thank you.

Bad enough we have to worry about hitting the ground at 50 mph and skidding along, now you have to worry about hitting the ground at 90 MPH streight down an going splat?
NO THANKS!

Actually, all he bolted down was the top rotor. It was that meat grinder that powered it down the street...

Did anyone else catch that the top rotor was unpowered? It creates enough lift just from the back propeller. That is probably what he patented... it is a pretty cool idea. By angling the top rotor, it gives him lift from the wind and the propulsion from the back.

Nope. Not new. That's what a gyrocopter is. Unpowered rotor, with a propellor to provide forward thrust. By angling the rotor into the wind created by its forward motion, the rotor spins up and provides lift. Gyrocopters have been flying since the 1920s and pre-date helicopters.
Ninja79 : Yes. You would need a pilots license with a gyrocopter rating.

...not to mention that when you crash and burn in that one, there's extra long spinning blades of DEATH involved.
