I had one more question actually, im running about 8-10k rpms at normal freeway speeds, that really doesnt leave much for passing or anything, Im just wondering, is it possible that the clutch isnt engaging all the way or something? Ive got it adjusted pretty far out, but theres a little play that doesnt seem to affect anything at all. It just seems like even on my little 250 I should have a little bit more power to spare. (Im sorry if I come off as the usual "Im so good I need more power" kind of guy, thats not me at all)

Its definately not your last bike. after a while of riding, you may decide you want better ability to add luggage options, maybe sharper handling, different looks, or a different experience.
Some people do keep bikes for 10 years, but I'd get a really good idea of what makes a good bike for you, before buying new and planning on having a bike that amount of time

Are you saying the bike won't go any faster if you open the throttle more? 8K-10K rpms will give you average freeway speeds, but you should be able to open it up more if you need to. I was riding a Ninja 250 on freeways last year at it seemed pretty comfortable running at 11,500 rpm. That was giving me something in the neighborhood of 80+ mph.

It will a little, but it seems its about to explode lol. I know its made to rev high, but I also know they put the little red stripes there for a reason. My powerband seems to peak at around 8-10k, which is what im cruising at, between 10-12k I get a little bit of acceleration, but not much. Also 80 indicated for me is what seems to be keeping up with traffic, im not passing anyone. and I know that they arent going 80, in my cage I see most people driving around 65.

If you haven't already, you may want to check out http://ninja250.org/ They have a pretty comprehensive FAQ on the bike and are quite knowledgeable about the mechanical ups and downs. They can probably get more specific about your question on the RPMs.

This is a common problem with noobs on the EX250. Incidentally, that was why I was riding my friend's 250. He thought there was something wrong with it. The real problem turned out to be that he was hesitent to run it at higher rpms. Don't worry. The engine is built to make its power at those higher rpms. It's not going to explode.

If I recall correctly, those little red stripes are at 13.5K or 14K rpm. If you can get it to redline in top gear, you'll be doing better than 100 mph. I wouldn't recommend running it there for long periods, but you should be able to run at around 11.5K all day long without a problem.

Accelleration will slow considerably above 70 mph. After all, it is a 250 and there's just so much horsepower on tap.
