That's not causing your problem- good to replace but not causing your problem. You want to inspect the line going to your petcock from your cylinder. That's where a vaccum leak will cause this problem.

As for the dealer? Screw it, take it to a store with metric fuel lines, size it and cut it yourself. Yamaha charges like $8 for a hose like that when it can be had for $0.60

Well I took a third look at the petcock and there is just one line comming from it. But it looks like it is ment to have a second line comming from the back. When I look it up on yamaha's website it shows a line comming out the back. What it doesn't show is where that line goes. Storysunfolding, you said it should go to the cylinder any specific places to look for it? Sorry for all this guys, I'm a newb at this.

Check for a nipple on the intakes where the carbs meet the cylinders. If you find a loose hose there, that's your culprit.

Take some pictures- it's easier for me to remember that way!

found it, sitting right where you said it would be, now the hard part, getting it on. everything is too cramped and I think i will be taking the tank off :(
But at least I should have my bike running as good as it can. I'll post back either way. THANKS

Might as well replace all your fuel hoses and vaccum lines if they feel stiff while you are at it. On old bikes thats when they start getting cracks and not sealing well.

It works a whole lot better, especially with higher speeds. It was hiccuping at me today, but that was fixed by turning it to reserve and finding a gas station, 3.30 a gallon god I'm glad I bought a bike.
