Milk crate? LOL!!!blues2cruise wrote:It is like riding a bike.....a couple of years ago I had a surgery on my hand and was unable to ride for almost three months. When I got back on it was like I has just ridden the day before.
Welcome to the wonderful world of having the internet occupy your time. Although I have been told my humour has resorted toand that I need to hurry up my healing.

Keep your fingers crossed....maybe it's only strained muscles.
If you want a cheap easy fix to see if a back rest would help...place a rolled up sleeping bag right behind your seat and secure it with bungees or something. Even my milk crate served the purpose on occasion.
Thanks! ME TOO!!!!!!!! Its bike weather damnit! lol!Shorts wrote:NightNurse, I hope you heal up soon!
Cool thanks! Wonder if it would work on mine.
Thanks. Ive had back problems for years, before this injury it hurt to ride after a long time. Just have to take breaks and stretch. If its a permanent thing, Id rather ride anyway (just make it comfy as possible). It hurts to drive the damn car, sit, stand whatever...so I might as well do something I like!flynrider wrote:Hey Night,
Much as it pains me to say it, your best bet is to stay off the bike until you're thoroughly healed. I had a similar problem with an old football injury when I started riding. When it started getting painful, I was advised not to subject my spine to the rigors of riding. I didn't take the advice and eventually ended up being carried to the hospital for a weeks stay.
Nowadays, when I feel the back pain coming on, I just lay off the bike for awhile.
A backrest might feel better initially, but the problem is that the stiff suspension on the bike transmits the shock of every bump on the road, right up your spine. Unfortunately, there's no bike on the road with suspension soft enough to avoid this.
Hope you're feeling better soon.
BTW - If you're a fan of carrying a ton of "crumb" on a bike, here's my pic :
