we are looking for the bike right now. i have no clue where it went. i hope it was totaled, cuz then I only owe $1000 ($500 deductible + $500 difference in purchase price and book value). If it is not totaled they will want to repair it and give me a bike i cant ride and cant sell (would you buy a wrecked bike?)
bike had 460 miles on it. and good point on feeling out a bike i don't yet know. i wasn't pushing it though, we were "done" and leisurely heading home. if it was day time this particular accident never would have happened.

The moment I saw it in all caps I recognized it as a hex number of some sort. I didn't know if it was intentional.. then I read the full explanation. I had no idea that was the magic number in Java.
I read the thread about why they chose CAFEBABE. I must say I think 00COFFEE is better

Unless you have vonage...
Vonage is not a landline, and if you follow their instructions they enter your information into the system specifically for purposes like this.
tortus - I'm so sorry to hear you crashed. Sounds like you're pretty shaken up. Take it easy and take it slow..make sure you listen to your body when it tells you that it hurts!

I'm a bit confused on what your injuries were- do you have time to elaborate for us?

99% of it is just roadrash: right wrist, right knee, right shoulder, chin, and various other bits like my hip.
my right shoulder joint tore and last night did not hurt but now it does, just a mild throb.
the real injury is my left hand. i have a very deep cut on it, it looks like someone stabbed me, before the stitches it was like a tunnel going into my hand. my left hand is extremely swollen and is in intense pain now. I can juuust barely wiggle my fingers and i can start to make a fist if I'm willing to accept a lot of pain.
a tendon is damaged and yeah, i can tell you exactly which one

the tendon near my thumb is extremely painful. they don't think any bones broke but i won't know for sure untill my follow up on Tuesday.
so basically a stabbed hand. in the grand scheme of things, i'll gladly take it.
