Guys chill out. There's a difference between a complete newbie whos never touched a bike wanting a race bike and a beginner wanting a race bike. He never stated the info, and you know assuming makes an "O Ring" out of you and me.

How much riding experience do you have?

No, a 1000 is not suitable for the street. It is suitable for the track.

Here is a video. Yes, I realize the bikes are not what you are looking for, but for comparison take a look.

The big 1300cc Hayabusa vs the little Suzuki 250....There really wasn't a lot of difference in the speed. Granted the Suzuki is revving quite high compared to the Hayabusa, but they were going flat out on a track. For regular street riding, a big bike like the Hayabusa (or a 1000cc CBR) is a waste.
The bigger the bikes, the more gas they use and the higher the insurance.

hey, thanks for not making an assumption. been riding for 8 years, have owned ninja 500 sv650 and a marauder. i will never consider myself "experienced" since there is always so much to learn, like avoiding cages tryin to run me down. this bike will be used for mainly the track, but will be riding to the track as i have no other means of transportation.

Do you have any riding experience? Nobody on this board will recommend either bike to a newbie.
Usually people do not take offense to improper grammar and punctuation on internet chat rooms and forums. The same idea is still conveyed. Sorry if you have to put in a slight bit more effort to assist me. My apologies.
