Very little difference between the four 600's unless you are speaking aesthetically.

That being said, I'm calling bullshit. The seating/ergonomics on a GSX-R(anything) are MUCH more cramped then on a katana, or the ninja 500/650 SV-650, and a variety of other bikes. It's a bloody race bike, it's not meant to give you room to stretch out in, it's not meant to be comfortable to sit on it. It's meant to go fast, really fast.

That being said, it's your money, but don't tell us you think you should get it because it's "roomier". "I'm a big guy, so I need a big bike" is just bullshit. Sorry.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

As said above, not alot of difference except fit and name. Each may have a sligfhtly different ergo feel. 600s have a tendency to bite alittle quicker than a 750.

Anyway, do what you want, sounds like your mind is made up.

Sounds to me like you're very determined to have at least a 600cc sportbike as your first motorcycle and you're attempting to get others to support that decision.

Most people on this forum will not condone that. Some will. But most people on this forum are a lot more cautious and conservative than that.

As I posted on my Learn To Ride A Motorcycle page - It is dangerous and foolish to ride a motorcycle with performance characteristics which greatly exceed the skills of the rider.

Pay close attention to that thought.

Note it doesn't say that the performance should not exceed the skills of the rider; It says the performance should not GREATLY exceed the skills of the rider. 600cc sportbikes greatly exceed the skills of 99.999% of newbie riders.

You might be that 0.001% exception ... Just be honest with yourself before you decide ...

No one called you dumb. And the question has been answered, the answer is actually in the stickies at the top. And in this thread.

It's your money, if you're dead set on a 600, then go for it. But you don't need to convince us that you need it.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I agree with Sev. No one called you dumb.

You came here asking questions about what you should buy. That's been answered.

You're set on buying a sportbike. Why? I'll answer that for you, because you wanna look cool and impress people. That much is obvious to all of us.

Twist that throttle to hard and you'll really look cool, when you wrap that 600 cc sportbike around a tree, or worse a cage with a innocent family in it, becasue you don't want to take the time to learn on a tame bike, before you rush right out and buy a speed bike.

We all care about fellow bikers, and don't wanna see you get hurt or you hurt someone else, because of your inexperience riding.

Shame. You asked a question and it has been answered several times ove, by people who know.

Think about this long and hard, before you rush right out and buy a sportbike.

If you finance your bike, the bank will require full coverage. Full coverage on a GSX-R is not cheap at all.

If you get a GSX-R, do know your chances of a world of hurt are very high. It really doesn't matter where you plan to ride it or how you plan to ride it. The world of hurt mostly comes from the unplanned events.

I've got several years of on and off riding experience, took the MSF safety course a few years ago. This year is the first year I've really taken to riding and am doing it regularly with the intent of getting good at it. I wouldn't buy a GSX-R right now if it was $5. I've ridden enough to know it's too much for me and wouldn't be nearly as much fun as my "little" SV is.
