What would be considered an emergency in the bike repair world? Isn't it just first-come, first-serve?
Around here, mid-Spring is the busiest time at the bike shop. That seems to be when everyone gets the itch to ride, but are then reminded of needed maintenance issues.
Anyway... hope you all get your bikes back soon.

Buddy who is rolling through town and found out that he has a flat tire - we'll get him a new one ASAP, we're all riders. And it doesn't take that long too get it done.
Someone whose going on a trip and, "has a story", I need to be in such and such a place, and I need to have my maint done, or a tire change. Etc etc, most shops try to keep a slot or two open during the week so that people like that can be fit in. Or preferential treatment for preferential customers. Friends of the owner, or friends of the mechanics sometimes...
I dunno... usually it's first come first serve, but there are exceptions to ever rule.

OK - that's what I thought. Our shop usually likes to get us in and out pronto, as we had so many repair nightmares with my first "lemon" Mean Streak from two summers ago. Nothing was their fault, but they genuinely felt bad that the problems with that bike couldn't be resolved. "Scan" just took his bike in last week for a rear tire replacement and they had him out of there in no time. We don't ask for it, but I guess they're just trying to keep things in good standing with us.

I took my Vulcan 500 in today for a rotor change (finally), brake pads and a valve adjustment.
I wish they took more than 5 hours to do the work, maybe more than a day, that way I would still have more money in my pocket.
