I had the same trouble with my parents also. Every time I mentioned motorcycles or possibly even buying one, they always claimed riding was too dangerous and then kind of blew it off. But once I actually started looking for a bike and talked with a few motorcycle owners, they realized that I was pretty serious. Sometimes you just have to do it yourself to let others acknowledge your intentions. But if you are under age and still living at home, you may have to talk them into it before you try to buy anything. I'm pretty sure you can not sign a title, set up an insurance policy, or even get a license very easily when under age. (But I could be wrong about that, i'm not sure)

Reading motorcycle books will help a lot too. It will show your mom that you are serious about the sport rather than just looking cool and going fast, which is a common, single demand for many riders out there.
