wow I must have a dirty bike. I wash mine in the winter after the first snow fall and then again after riding a couple of times after winter to get the salt off.

This is the standard joke at our house.....

The Lady (my bike) get washed and waxed on almost weekly basis. My hubby's bike gets rained on.

Other day he came in as mad as an old wet hen accusing me of washing his mirrors. Had to remind him that he rode home in deluge two days prior..

ill use scrubing bubbles spraycan works great gets in all the fins of the motor and nooks and crannys just hose it off and dry and good to go. i also use ajax or comet bleach on my white walls better than 10 bucks for white wall cleaner at the dealer for a 1.50 can it will last all year and into the next

Scrubbing bubbles, eh? Will have to try that next time!! The whitewall cleaners are a good idea, too! They wouldn't "mess" with the rubber in the tire any, would they?

Could you help then in pointing us in the right direction or letting us know where the "old thread" is? I guess if you have been around here for a while, pretty much everything has already been discussed so would appreciate some direction...

hk255 brought it up not you. But to help you out at the top of every post is the date it was posted. for example if you look at the very first post it states.

Sometimes, an old thread is worthy of bringing back up. Just like this one at a time when cleaning the winter crud off of a bike is important to some people...

Or I just go to the self serve car wash. Just don't hit any exposed wires/tubes/etc/wheel bearing at full blast. In fact, there's isn't much I hit with full blast...

yeah this is definitly a good thread. I plan to be riding my bike year round in oregon, which is a lot of rain, which means a lot of cleaning i think, I keep looking at older bikes, 20 y/o and older for some reason, i just love the look and character of older standards/naked/cruisers. not to mention less expensive and from what i hear generally easier to work on than newer bikes. back to my point.... daily commutes in the rain=lots of bike washing???
