If you're worried about the prices of the Suzuki check Craigslist, Cycletrader, or even ebay and you should be able to find one for cheaper. Personally I want the Hyosung, but it is a bit out of my price range for a first bike. I also don't know how I'd feel about getting something brand new when it's most likely going to hit the ground at some point. I'm hoping that with its popularity growing that it'll be easier to find a used one in the next year or so. That should bring the price down a substantial amount. Of course there is always the Ninja 250 which has a great reputation but looks a bit out of date. It's your call.

I wouldn't put all my eggs in that one basket. The hyosungs are quite good value, and people are holding on to them. Otherwise, they're handing them on pretty quietly. No real need to advertise when everyone wants one!

Depends on what your long term goals are......do you want to learn street riding skills or do you wish to contribute to your local organ bank?

If you want to learn the basics and gain street survival riding skills, then start off with the often recommended Ninja 250 or a bike like it.......if you wish to become an organ donor, then may I suggest the Suzuki GSX1100R?
