well, I live in a pretty hot climate, so to me hot weather comfort is a lot more important. However, in general, it is much easier to put on more clothes than to put on uhh... less clothes. In winter nights, it does get close to freezing around here, and I was fine with a sweater underneath the jacket. And you don't really want to ride a bike when there's snow and ice outside anyway.

+1 for the Aerostich. Keep an eye on their website, or subscribe via RSS, for sale items. After experimenting with much cheaper, $$$ and sense, I finally got myself a 2 piece Roadcrafter, on sale. I should have done this in the first place and saved some money. The 'stich is good enough to wear for 10 months out of the year. (July and August can be pretty bad) Spend the money on quality just ONCE.

bluecamel wrote:Well, I'm dumb. I discounted the one piece suits instantly because I thought they would be a pain to get on over clothes. Also, they're a bit pricey, but I might be able to swing it in a couple weeks. I wish there was somewhere around here that sold that stuff, and maybe there is and I just don't know about it.

The cold weather stuff is pretty important to me, as my bike, my scooter, and bicycle (yay for pedal power!!) are my only transportation around town.
Olympia has just brought out a one piece suit. My hubby has one and he really likes it. Plenty warm in cold weather (he commutes year round, unless there is frozen water falling), and waterproof - so long as you get all the openings fastened.

Unfortunately it is far too warm to wear in temps above about 80 degrees. But of course by that time, you'll be able to save up enough to get yourself a mesh jacket/pants for hot weather wear. (Mesh is cheaper than cold weather gear anyhow).

Thanks! I looked at the Olympia site. I didn't see a suit, but the jacket and pant combos look nice. Do you have a link for the one piece suit?

How many links did you try after hitting Google with the suit name, mentioned four days ago?

Skier, I was talking about the Olympia suit that Lion_Lady mentioned. I have looked at the Aerostich suit you recommended and they look awesome! While my bike is garaged, waiting for money to fix the charging system, I'm looking around at local shops, hoping to see and try on one of those.

Check out my post a scant three posts about Lion_Lady's on the previous page.

Sorry. My eyes completely missed that post before. Maybe I should sleep occasionally...
