Draggin jeans really don't provide that much protection. They have no armor and are only partly lined with the Kevlar stuff. I am not knocking them, just trying to give you an idea of how much protection they will actually provide in an accident.

I have two pairs and I wear them all the time - but I really don't view them as safety gear aside from being slightly better than plain denim pants.

Another thing to keep in mind for those who are considering them as protection is that the kevlar will only help you if that is the part that hits the street. If you land where there is no kevlar, the reinforced area will easily tear away.

For example; if you were to patch a pair of jeans with some new denim...that area is extra strong and probably won't wear out before the surrounding areas. However, the parts around the patch are weaker as they are older and used. If you ever yanked off that patch, you'd probably find that it was the older material that gave way and not the newer patch.

I saw the video of the guy demoing the draggin jeans where he was sitting on his butt while being pulled behind the truck. It was impressive but keep in mind that most get offs won't put your body in such a position...at least not for long. Food for thought anyway...

Thats not entirely true

My draggin jeans have armour in both knees and both hips, its something you have to request, amour is an accessory in draggin jeans world, not standard
