No i'm sorry I am new to the riding. I learned 2 years ago how to ride. But i have yet to find the bike that i want. So i don't know that much about riding. Sorry if i offended you. I didn't mean to. I just don't know the tricks and stuff to riding yet.

Okay. I was coming out of a sharp corner pretty hard and as I got straight I wasn't paying attention to the line I would be entering the next turn and I saw a deer sprint into the road 10 feet in front of me. I lightly tapped the front break and lean away from it but there happened to be a huge pile of gravel right in the center of the road. I went down after that.
If I hit a deer going 50 to 60, I think I would be in much more pain then I am now. (the bike too)


I usually ride next to the fog lines or the double yellows in the twisties because the cars clear a path for you and is usually the clearest there.

I'm usually pretty uptight about hitting turns with good lines and staying near the fog lights but just this once I wasn't paying attention at all..

Oh my god!!!!! I am glad you and your bike are ok. Thanks for the info on riding the road. Like i said before i'm new to all this.

glad youre ok..... animals suck. but they are delicious.

I don't really like venison (deer meat) but i do have a large freezer full of it. My son and his daddy eat it. Daddy hunts the deer and they both eat the meat. Anyways that is one of my biggest fears when i get a motorcycle is that a stupid animal will run out in front of me. I will lose it if i ever kill an animal either on a bike or in a car.

Ah okay, a deer....yeah they be a wee bit too big and meaty to roll over, best not to hit them if at all possible.....of course as bad as a deer can be, imagine going thru a corner and running into a black bear standing the middle of the road. Did that last Labour Day weekend up in Penticton........fastest panic stop and turn around I've ever done.....I figure that if I actually hit him, I would just ended up royally pissing him off and he'd have me and the bike for dinner.

WOW!!!!!! I couldn't even imagine running into a bear. Of course i live in the lower part of Wisconsin so i don't get to see any bears but i wouldn't want to anyways. They can stay in the zoo where i can see them. HAHA! They are beautiful to look at though. Ride careful.

Bear are what I worry about most here in Northern NJ. I see bear as often as I see deer. At night, you may see a deer's eyes reflecting light, but a black bear is nearly invisible.

We have to be careful leaving our house, as the bears are around alot.

You can keep the bears but you can't play with them. I have deer and turkeys i have to worry about so i shouldn't complain huh? That's better then bears. Please ride carefully.

If I ever hit a bear I hope I kill it so it doesn't maul me after I "pee" it off..


dakals- where are you from in Wisconsin? I lived in Wisconsin for 17 years before I moved to California. I started riding in August (of last year) so I didn't get much riding time in before I left and back then I didn't even know what a twisty was!
