Every vehicle that I have owned, I have had to have registration (pink slip in my name) for it before I could insure it, and in order to insure it, I had to have registration (all my insurance papers have my license plate number on it, which can only be gotten by registering first) I had to initiate the insurance paperwork before I paid for my registration, then when I got my registration they put the registration (plate number) into the insurance paperwork. I have only gone through the AMA for this, so other agencies may do things differently.High_Side wrote:Am I missing something here? I've only ever dealt with cooperators and I walk in with the serial number and walk out with insurance. The registries then requires proof of insurance before you can get yer plate. Sounds like the AMA causes you to make an extra trip....Gadjet wrote:Every vehicle that I have owned, I have had to have registration (pink slip in my name) for it before I could insure it, and in order to insure it, I had to have registration (all my insurance papers have my license plate number on it, which can only be gotten by registering first) I had to initiate the insurance paperwork before I paid for my registration, then when I got my registration they put the registration (plate number) into the insurance paperwork. not much of a trip at my local office; about 5 feet between the registration and insurance desks.High_Side wrote:I've only ever dealt with cooperators and I walk in with the serial number and walk out with insurance.
