I have an '07 1300 Tourer, and so far no issues, including the handlebars. I've only owned it for about a month, and have a few changes in mind, but the bars definitely won't be changed for me (6', 240 pounds).

Well I just did the first service on my 1300 and it cost me 417 bucks.
Am I Ever PISSED OFF, unless this is what it cost. Than I take back what I said in the thread I started and this one.

Consider yourself lucky it's not the Venture that you bought, now there was an expensive first service...

I guess there's always a brighter side to things eh.
the wife and I will be getting the Venture in a few years so it should be interesting to see what it will be then.

the 1300 does have a 'spensive first service. i don't remember (a lot of drinking, plus it's been about 10 months since i was at the bike shop) but there's a bunch more to the initial service than the 1100's or 650's.

i think we were charging $350, and if you add tax in that's not out of line

I have been thinking about buying a 1300 T, but someone recently said they heard Yamaha was going to stop making the 1300 V-Stars. I went to Yamaha's Web site, and the 1300 is not listed in their 2009 models ... the listing only includes Star models up to the 1100 Silverado.

Has anyone heard anything about this? I'm wary of buying a model that might be discontinued.

They appear to be here on the home page.........it lists the 2009 V Star 1300 and the V Star 1300 Touring.

Although i feel like i got ripped by the dealer for the fiirst service ($401. "We did a complete safety inspection and adjusted the valves."), i still love the bike more each time i ride it. Its found a home with me, and would have even if they had been discontinued.

But, from now on, all the services get done at home.

The 1300 V-Stars are listed in the current model year, but I don't see them in the '09 lineup here

http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/pro ... rview.aspx

Where is the link where you found them for '09?
