I've actually gotten more snubs from sport bike riders when I'm on the Harley. Not sure why there is a separation between the two groups, or why people care. There appear to be jerks who own sport bikes and jerks who own Harley's.
I agree on that one. I wave to anyone I see on two wheels. People who don't wave back are more often than not guys on sport bikes.

Oh crap here we go again :)

Can we give Shane-o the "Aussie Bart Simpson" title? Cause seriously, this guy loves to stir the pot.

I mean, you love Shane-o but it's that love where sometimes you want to choke him. You know? :)

I agree There appear to be jerks who own sport bikes and jerks who own Harley's.
When I am out riding, I ride and wave. If they don't wave back, its their problem. I am out for the ride........and to enjoy myself.. :waves: :waves: :waves:

I've noticed this too. I know several Harley riders, and for the most part they don't really dislike sport bikes or sport bike riders in general. Some of them are even big MotoGP and dragbike fans.

What really gets their blood boiling is kids speeding around like idiots, buzzing by them, riding dangerously, etc. I remember one time sitting at a roadside burger joint with a couple of Harley guys (and a BMW guy) when we heard the unmistakable sound of a sportbike closing in at high speed. The road was empty. The guys I was with looked pretty interested as the bike (and fully geared-up rider) flew past, then rolled their eyes and complained about the idiot when they heard him slow down to almost a stop at the turn ahead because he didn't have the skill to take the corner at speed, only accelerate on the straights.

In general I find that they have no problem with responsible riders, no matter what they're on. And they can appreciate skills, no matter what kind of bike the rider is on

Good n bad in every group. Too be honest, I don't really wave as much as I used to. Too many bikes on the road now-a-days.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I was riding with a friend and he made the same sort of comment because three sport bikers riding together never waved back at us as we passed. I had to correct him, one nodded his head, the other two lifted their fingers off the clutch. Now I don't ride a GSXR, never will, But I do know, that if you're not that experienced, removing a hand from the bars just might not be that great of an idea. I've also seen the barely perceptable nod from Harley riders at times as well, (Especially if they're in a group...)

So next time, take a close look before you condemn some other rider to a reputation of snobbery...
