The install is pretty easy. Just a couple of bolts and a spring. You might need to apply a bit of elbow grease to get the spring on there, but it's doable. The centerstand doesn't interfere at all with the sidestand.
As for the shocks, I've been quite happy with the stock ones. I ride two up a lot and just set the preload for maximum stiffness. Works fine for me.
