New rider he may be, but hes not a very good example of a squid.

New slippery as snot tires, way too much playing with the lean angle for a parking lot, goosing it at the farthest point of lean, there goes the rear tire's friction into a spin and suddenly he was drifting at low speed. And when it grabbed again, off he went.

I hate new tires, I take my old drill with a steel brush and scrub the slick stuff off until I see clean flat (no shine) rubber before I will ride on them. All the way up to the sidewall so that I have the whole potential lean area clean! I've seen too much new tire slide damage to moto and human skin. I try to take it easy on lean angles the first 5-10 miles or so out on a ride so the tires get warmed up, too.

I think that what you're hearing is the RPMs ramping up as the back wheel loses all traction.

Yeah, the torque of a liter bike will do that with new tires and someone who doesn't have any place being on one. He showed poor throttle control for the conditions. Tires don't lose traction by themselves. Even in a full puddle with brand new tires, the tire won't slip unless you give it too much throttle.

The whole outfit was new, the bike was new. Even if he wasn't a new rider, he obviously wasn't experienced on a bike like that. So assuming that he wasn't a new rider, that is even MORE of a reason not to start on a bike like that. If "Mr. Tracksuit" was, in fact, experienced and dropped it doing the most basic of riding, what do you think a person without any experience would do?

I also disagree with that happening on any bike. Have you ever seen the rear tire slip on a rebel in a parking lot and fishtail? Even on new tires...
