Way to rub it in... In NYC we've been having a pretty good winter in terms of snow fall. The cold hasn't kept many riders away this time for some reason.

Don't feel bad! We here on the south shore of Nova Scotia got 15 cms of snow today and they're suggesting we have another 4 or 5 weeks of unpredictable winter-like weather to go. Makes me wonder what the weather will be like for my MSF course? Hmmm.

Yep, we had a week of snow here too After a few weeks of nice weather to tease us and get the bikes out!

Now it is nice again, hopefully it will stay that way (NO MORE SNOW!)

Took mine out for a rip the other weekend, but it's still way too cold for any regular riding. Can't wait!

got the bikeo out went around the city streets with my son on the back doing 30mph to get the bike warmed up so I can check the charging system. Got home put the meter on and immediatly I could tell a difference because it idles at just over 12v. Revved it up to the required 2500rpm and it jumped up to 13.5v woohoo got my system figured out and all the problem was is the light on my liscence plate had a shorted wire in it. The spark plug wires were fine and I found out the socket was designed to pop out if you pulled on the wire incorrectly (which I did stupid me).

THEN I went down the street (little over a mile) to the local store to pickup some cheese and sure enough some dumbarse pulls out in front of me. though I anticipated it so was able to stop just before nailing the idiot.

bah, it's 30 - 48 degrees F here in NYC and many guys are out on their bikes including me. As long as there's no snow or ice why not? just get some warm gear.

Now riding in 10 degree F weather is another story but still doable... at least by my standards.

14f was the coldest I have ridden and I will NEVER do it again. 20F is my limit. Either way it was 45F today and I was in shorts working (pants to ride however) and I didnt think it was that bad.

I did learn something, however, when you put armorol on the treads of the tire (not just the sidewalls) you tend to slide a little going around a corner lol. Scared the bejesus out of me but im ok cause I pulled out of it . Man not using your brakes makes it SSSSOOOO much easier to pull out of sticky situations .

You should never use that stuff on MC tires, (it might actually say that on the bottle...)

We have some cold days here in NEPA. Today was one of them. I had to take the bike for my 600 mile check-up at 9am.It was 19 degrees. Layered as much as I could and went on my way. Only a 16 mile ride to my dealer. When I got thre my fingers were STINGING. (yes I was wearing gloves (leather) Rookie mistake number 2. While I was waiting for my bike i picked up a pair of Thinsulated wind proof gloves. MUCH BETTER!!!!!! for the ride home. Note to self: DON'T RIDE IN BELOW 35 DEGREE WEATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Expecting a warm up next week (In the 50's)
