I tried Cat Crap for a while as an anti-fog coating. It doesn't work nearly as well as shaving cream. Cleans things up nicely but Plexus is easier: spray on, buff out.

Paper towels can cause scratches on your visor. It's a paper product so it's a bit more abrasive than what you should use to clean your visor. A cotton cloth works great: steal a wash cloth when your SO isn't looking.

I just use what we have at work. some Bausch & Lomb Sight Savers pre-moistened lens cleaning tissue with anti-fog and anti-static agents in it. If I get to many scratches ill prob just go fork over the $15 for a new shield.

Shaving cream to reduce fogging? Is there anything to promote sheeting of the rain on the outside of the visor, or will Pledge do that, too?

I know Rain-X does it very well for glass. And I think I heard they made a plastic safe one too. If you find one, I would check the bottle and if it doesnt say it can be used with visors, to go ask a salesperson who sells helmets.

I haven't used Pledge before, but plain ol' car wax on the outside of the visor works well. It's pretty rare for me to treat the outside of my visor after I started using Plexus to clean it, though.

Lemon Pledge is also good for seats(vinyl, not leather) and plastics.

Lemon Pledge can attract bess though. I'm slightly allergic to bee so I use regular Pledge.

I use PlatX for my shilds and windscreens.

You wax your seat? While not as bad as something like Armor-all, that would probably make the seat a bit slippery, no?. I like a bit of friction to hold me in place when I'm riding.

I use a product called Sprayway glass cleaner. You can get a huge can of it for less than $4. It works well on glass, plastics, and even metal. I use it to clean my bike as well as my helmet.

you should clean your leather with murphy's oil (same stuff horse riders use on their saddles) and then use leather conditioner. Thats what I do . makes the leather shine oh so nice and perty.

Which is exactly why I capitalized "SOFT" As well as gave the brand I use. We don't get the cheap stuff. I guarantee the Bounty papertowels will not scratch - used it for 2 years.

I agree that any old cheapie papertowels can and will scratch the visor - but use the right kind and they won't.
