Well, I seem to notice that ceemes and blues2cruise both have their locations listed... Neither one would have to worry about "State" laws anyway... lol.

True about profile saying location. But here these laws can vary from a major city just by going to another city or sub-burb or leaving city limits (unknowingly) in same metro area.(also between different parts of same town) I assume this is the same there also! And I have seen several bikes and scooters parked like this in Canada (Calgary and Hinton not BC)

I have also heard of some towns writing tickets for, more than one bike in same parking spot (metered parking), parking bike perpendicular to curb (para. parking), parking bike perpendicular to curb (angle parking bike not running with lines of parking space), backing into parking space(angle parking) and for NOT backing into space (also angle parking).

I even got a ticket with sidecar rig for not having a Handicapped permit displayed in bikes windshield (it was in sidecar windshield) This was thrown out of court and LEO got a scolding from Judge!

When several bikes are parked on sidewalk I always wonder if it is actually legal or if the local LEO just turns his head to parking violations.

And my guess would be that most people in Southern BC, would regularly ride in Washington. (most people I know in Washington ride in BC quite a lot)

Here I think it's more a case of they will take a chance because sometimes the police are too busy to stop and write a ticket.

We can have 3 bikes(I believe) per metered parking space.

That changed from one per space to multiple per space almost overnight some years ago.
The local motrocycle lobbying group arranged a ride to the capitol...height of tourist season....Hundreds of riders from all over the mainland and the island (where the capitol is) rode en masse to the capitol early morning and parked one motorcycle per space all over the dowtown and harbour area.
When the tourists and workers started arriving for shopping, sightseeing and work, there was nary a parking spot to be had because of the one bike per spot law.....
The lawmakers quickly saw the error of their attitudes and the law was changed toute suite.
It's amazing what can happen sometimes when everyone works together.

This needs to happen in Vancouver. We need more flexability for M/C parking downtown, and at malls in the Metro area... Maybe start targeting malls one by one, fill those spots with bikes at 7-8 am before the mall opens and see how quick they arrange M/C parking...

So far, the only mall that I know of that has M/C areas laid out, is Lougheed Town Centre, and even that is limited...

I wonder if, in the circumstances of someone riding a motorcycle towards you on a sidewalk, one could press the engine cut-off switch.
