im a crazy rider. If I have to follow someone doing 10mph under the speed limit I pass as soon as I possibly can (safely of course) and sometimes that means passing when we turn onto another road. I cant stand going under the speed limit. I guess I am getting irritated more than ever because it seems like slow drivers have increased 200%.

hahah holy crap tell me about it. My dad and I were coming back from a long trip and we were stuck behind a V8 Mustang going 45mph on the freeway. Everyone was flying past us at like 75mph on the passing lane, so it was hard for us to get around him.

I think people are trying to save gas.

I see nutsoid riders in NorCal all the time. They split at 80 mph without much buffer room. I get the whole splitting thing (even though I don't do it) and I've seen far more riders do it safely, but it's the high-risk takers people notice, and it paints riders as a whole in their eyes.

Then there are the kids stunting on the freeway. I get the appeal and admire the skills, but take it to a private road...

Yeah the laws here in Florida got tough.

If you ride wheelies in Florida LOOK OUT. The new laws are in effect. First offense 1000.00 fine... third offense FELONY - PRISON TIME - 5000.00 fine - 10 year loss of license.(All of the above) OUCH. The thing im a bit concerned with is how far can the cop take it. Like if your wheel comes off the ground like a few inches? Lets face it there are some cops that just hate bikers and would like nothing more than to stick it to us. The New Florida Law

55 on the freeway??? I'm surprised she didn't get rear ended by a semi.

4 car length in a couple of seconds is also about 20 mph faster so the bike was going 75 mph which is probably normal speed on the freeway.....
You are absolutely right, she was in traffic so the flow was 55...But the part I am objecting or complaning about is that the person split traffic at 70-75 between two large vehicals side by side. One wrong move and smoosh...

And the reason you ride a bike????????
You don't have the right to dictate how other people live.
It may be stupid and dangerous but it's (supposedly) a free country.
I don't condone the wheelies on I-95 or elsewhere, particularly in traffic, its just stupid.
It has meant new laws with severe penalties which will be abused by police, and, much more worrying, will lead to even more laws against motorcycles in general.
The party's started by using the law against minorities (and motorcyclist are a minority, whatever your 'day job')
BTW, the fine in Florida is actually $1076.00, forgot to add mandatory court costs

Sorry PJ,

But your rights and freedoms to act like an asinine arsehole on a public road ends right at the point you begin endanger the lives and property of other road users.

As for your party reference, I call Godwin's Law

Splitting is legal in Cali right? At least in rush hour traffic.
