The K505' are still available. the Ones I bought were made last year according to the date code.

Dunlop still advertises them on their site.

I found about 6 places that still carried them online. I got mine from Dennis Kirk.

I understand a 150/70 -17 will fit in the rear, which adds a few models that will fit.

As I said, the BT045 rear was bald at 7000 miles. Our bikes aren't all that powerful to chew through them that fast. No wheelies or smokies for me.
The front cupped pretty badly too, even though the previous tires (k505's) weren't.

The Dunlops seem to handle batter, they have a rounder profile than the BT045.

How do they Pirelli's feel after the BT's?

My Bike, with the Hondaline Windshield. I am running a Givi 750 now though...

The video is neat but....
It doesn't show what is obviously a PITA putting on the front wheel, and notice how he takes out a single helmet and jacket from the pod, then it shows them riding 2-up with no gear at all!
I imagine it also greatly reduces your payload and weight & balance.

Very neat concept though...

Thanks for the tip on the K505s, Richard. When I was looking for replacement tires a couple of years back, Dunlop's website said they'd quit production and that the replacement for the K505s would be the GT501s (which, of course, didn't come in the right size).

The Pirelli felt a little weird on the back at first, but I got used to it. It's definitely a stickier tire, as I found on the twisty roads. Not bad in the gravel either. It felt much less squirelly than the straight street tire.

I just replaced my steering stem bearing with tapered rollers, ALL-Balls brand.

Really made a big difference on the handling.

I always had a little head shake with my hands just off the handlebars (I don't ride like that, just testing alignment and such).

Since the bearing change, the bike has NO head shake at all. I can ride no handed and even steer that way (Again, just a test, on an empty road).

The bike now steers like it is reading my mind.

It was worth the $36.
