I use Axe spray (Proximity Bergemot (?) and it stays with me, even after I sweat on a ride. After using it enough times it has embedded itself into my riding gear. As long as I change my shirt and wash my pants my gear will continue to smell the way I want it to for a long time.

.
You've had experience, yes?
...or you've just discovered this way-out new after shave?
...or (I hesitate slightly) this is something that stunting fans might pay to watch?

Hi Suz
I did some ferreting and it appears you are right. Depending on which planet you inhabit:
1. "Adrenaline modulates signaling by the olfactory epithelium. A new study suggests that this effect may result from channel phosphorylation in olfactory receptor neurons."
or
2. "Get in a good supply of peppermints (mints absorb the extra adrenalin smell from your own breath and will help to keep your dog calmer if you are nervous.)"
It seems that peppermints are what you need (presuming that you are exceptionally troubled by excitable dogs, that is.) Alternatively, you could try remaining super-cool at all times.
Just remember those old biker words of wisdom on tight cornering:
Fast in, - dodo out.
