four stroke ok, but how do you know this,what makes it a four or two i am confused a little, never had a bike or anything like that before???

hey any one know where i can get a new motor for my motorcycle?? i think i blew up mine, it is a 84 honda shadow vt500c... i need a new one!!!!

You can always look on eBay.
What'd you do to it?
(A Shadow 500 is a four stroke. As far as how you tell? Unless it's a fancy new two-stroke with direct injection, you'll have to add the oil directly to the fuel, I believe)

For our purposes here.... a 4 stroke will have camshafts and valves, but a 2 stroke will not.

I am not to sure about that but i was reving it and it just started making a grinding sound then a knock and seized up so i thought any way it turns out that the bike got fire hot the stupid gauge was showing half way but really it must have been hot cause when it stopped running the bike was so hot that the water was boiling into the over flow so there goes that you cant trust a gauge either i guess anyway the next night i had someone pull me and after a while it finally started and it wont go five miles an hour and it is knocking like crazy

i want to find a rebuilt motor for it does any body know where i could get a rebuilt motor for it please help me find a motor for my bike
