I have to say that this is about the only way I've seen Thunderbird look decent. I grew up around Norman and live for about 8 years in Norman before I moved down here. Spent a lot of time at Dirtybird.

Great shot, although I'd suggest doing a little photoshopping to level that horizon a little more.

Taken with a Fujifilm Finepics S700..

Let's see what you got.

This is reflections in a pond...I just enhanced the colour a bit.

I like the sunset too Johnj. Is that around where you live?
It was a quick one-off shot I took with the kit lens in a dim room at ISO 1600. Totally unplanned, but that's the way I like them ;)

I lived in Norman before Thunderbird existed. I came home on leave from the Navy after being gone a couple of years, jumped on my uncle's motorcycle, and took off out east of town (whatever route number Alameda becomes). What a surprise when I crested a rise and saw nothing but water!!!!! Managed to get stopped about 5 feet from the water's edge and just sat there trying to figure out what was going on. Turned around, found the sign about quarter of a mile back warning about the road being out (I missed it the first time), and then went hom. My mom had forgotten to mention Thunderbird to me (actually, I'm not even sure it had a name then....it wasn't even a lake yet).

Anyway, I never did live in Norman again, but went back to visit with family every now and then. It took a couple of years, but the humidity became almost unbearable....so much different from when I was growing up.

Oh well...enough reminising.... Nice photos y'all.

Cheers,

Mac

If I spend that much time and effort to get that shot, I probably won't PS it too much. It took three days and about 250 shot to get the right combination of color in the sky, the sun at the right angle, the reflection on the water, and that boat. Anyway for the politically bent members I did PS this from some file photos. You may use it as you see fit.
