I have voted libertarian every chance I have had to vote. But I don't like like Bob Barr at all. I hate to say it but I think Obama is my favorite so far. The only thing I don't really know his opinion on is gun laws.

I know some of you will not like my vote, but I'm choosing not to vote. At this point it's not picking the best candidate, it's picking the lesser of the two evils. And honestly both have points I like and both have points I dislike.
It just plain sucks this year!

The only thing I don't really know his opinion on is gun laws.

He wants to continue the AWB permanently and get ride if CCW for all law abiding citizens. Obama = no good for guns. If you want proof - take a look at Daly in Chicago and all the mess they are making of that city.

Do your research completely before deciding, especially if you are pro-gun.


As for "experience" blow that out of the water since that is moot point between Obama (POTUS) and Palin (VP). Look at the records and achievement instead. Palin was in so little time but went head to head with big oil and the 'good ole' boys' network in big oil.

Both Palin and B.O. are short on time. The difference is, between the PRESIDENTIAL candidates, McCain blows OB out of the water in experience. So, don't confuse the two offices of President and Vice President. Second, Palin, with her record and accomplishments, stands a great chance of learning the ropes for international affairs very quickly and thoroughly from McCain. Anyone who says McCain doesn't know his stuff internationally is grasping at straws and needs to find better to criticize. Palin is successful, strong and able candidate and has shown that with her record thus far.


Do your research on the issues rather than jumping on a bandwqagon.

This isn't betwen Palin and Obama - keep that in the right place. This is between McCain/Obama for President and Palin/Biden for VP.

i consider myself more libertarian then anything. with that, it was surprising for me to read that you would be more likely to pick obama. interesting pick for a libertarian.

i voted that i'm not going to vote. please don't take my explanation as anything other than an explanation. i wondered if i should share why and figured i'd go ahead anyway.

my not voting has nothing to do with who is running. i decided before there were firm tickets on either side. it has nothing to do with not being informed or caring about politics and our country. i listen to liberal and conservative talk radio, surf the web and try to catch things on tv. i have very strong political views.

it's actually "bothering" me a bit to not vote this time around. i know not many will agree with me (or even understand where i'm coming from), but i'm a christian and recently in some of the stuff i have been studying and reading i have realized some things. i've realized that i'm putting too much hope and trust in government and letting them be the church. if i vote "liberal" then i'm voting for a party that is running on a platform to take care of peoples needs - which i believe the church should be doing (even though as a collective we stink at that right now). if i vote "conservative" then i'm voting for a party that is going to keep a moral check on the country - again, it should be the church who is used as an agent of change and transformation.

it bothers me to not be in "control" and submit my vote. but the more i looked at it, the more i realized that i'm not praying for my government (the one political action i'm told to take in the bible) or trusting God for my needs. i also realized that i'm way too attached to this world and what it has to offer me and my kids.

anyway, please don't respond with any hate. i'm not trying to convince others of anything here. just sharing why i will not be voting for the first time in years. but i will be, and have been, praying for the upcoming elections that we get who we need.


btw, little side note... i like the vp pick of mccain. mccain is pretty liberal in my eyes and he wasn't all that exciting. there are things about palin that i do like. but alas... i won't be voting

This is the first forum I am part of that Obama is winning. I dont understand who people would chose someone who is friends with a known terrorist as well as someone who wants to raise tax's for the "upper" part of society which means business's will be less likely to hire more people because they have to pay more tax's. raise tax's on the rich = high prices on consumables for the rest of us.

I am not saying McCain is a good choice either but when you have to chose the lesser of the evils....
