Ok.....possibly a loud alarm might disuade them....because it would likely attract attention.

When Doc and I went on our road trip, I used a long cable to fasten our bikes together to make it more difficult to take them away.....some nights with the cable around a post..
I realize if someone is desparate to get them, they will get them, but they would have had to come prepared with bolt cutters to cut the cable and the NY disc lock....

Nobody wants to steal my bike anyway...they are so common.

My bike lives in a locked garage but for the times when I'm on the road, I have insurance. So far so good (22 years touring). However, I could be due!

I don't think 650 V-stars are usually what thieves want....that doesn't mean I take chances though...even in my underground parking garage I keep it locked. When it is not riding season, my bike gets parked against the wall and then my car parks in front of it....
but....if it goes.....I call the insurance company. And take the bus until it gets resolved.

Seriously..if I had a sport bike in this city, I would be more concerned than with my 650 cruiser....

It's often joked that the Suzuki V-Strom is quite ugly that no one would want it. This makes the bike even more practical than the other bikes out there... makes me want to get one.
