true geeks use linux :D.
The last time I checked Apple bought Caldera Linux, so I believe OS X is Linux.

I think you mean NeXT? At least, I've not heard of Apple getting anywhere near Caldera with a 10 foot pole. Anyway - No, it's closest to BSD. The kernel of the unix OS is what decides what flavor of unix it is, and OS X is most definitely BSD derived. It's based on CMU's mach kernel, and has taken pieces of freebsd and netbsd as well.

The nice thing about OSX is if you want to geek out you can, or you can totally ignore the geek aspects of it, and the whole thing just works nicely.

I think the scooter is cute. Protection from the rain is an obvious necessity for it, but otherwise that thing is pretty funny. :D

Sorry, I could have swore that I heard that Apple bought out Caldera Linux years ago on ZDTV/Tech TV/G4 TV when it was worth watching. I think the show was called The Screensavers. Now it's all about the games. Any way, I could have miss-heard the information about Caldera.

I did a little research last night and it seems that you are mostly correct. It seems that they threw in a little Linux in also along with some other pieces of operating systems to get to OS X. Seems that Caldera is the bad boy on the block now.
