I haven't decided if my second bike is the 'wrong' bike for me or not. Looks wise it is perfect for me - people have no idea what it is - which is cool.

MPG, not so great. Range of riding per tank, sucks. Wish it had ABS, but it hasn't been much of an issue.

Not to long ago I went out and got a 1999 BMW R1100RT paid alot for a used bike as much as my new Buell. I rode this BMW very little and becuase when I road it I had fear , I did not like the way it felt at all. I sold it and gave up riding for 2 yrs thinking it was me. Then I want a bike again and was going to get a fat bob, I rode the Buell and it felt so right, no more fear.

My first bike was a Kawasaki ZX9. I was totally infatuated with sport bikes, even though I had only ridden a little YZ80 as a kid. Well, I had the Ninja for about 10 days before totaling it. It has taken me 10 years to get back in the saddle. This time it's an H-D XL883L. I still like the looks of a sport bike, but for me, a small cruiser is all I need.

Just bought my first bike, and I did some research beforehand and so far so good. The best advice I was given was to go to a dealer and sit on some bikes. I even sat on bikes totally out of my price range.

I guess the only problem I'll have is to want more power after a while, but I plan to force myself to learn as much as possible with the 650.

I spent a year researching my first bike. The fact that it took a year was due to the fact I was saving the money for it; so the wait was out of necessity.

I narrowed the field down considerably knowing that I wanted a cruiser. Since I'm not much of a wrench, I wanted a maintenance-free bike, (well, as much as possible!)
Items I was looking for:
Fuel injection
Liquid cooled
tubeless tires
Shaft driven, but would have taken a belt

The choice came down to Kawasaki Vulcan 900 and Suzuki M50. (The Vstar 950 wasn't out yet.)

I ended up with the M50 because I walked in the shop and they had already added 2 mods I had planned.

It has been a great bike! And I want a second bike, but I won't get rid of the m50.

Since I'm taking longer trips I would like the Kawa Concours 14.

Pretty much all my bikes have been the right one at the right time for my needs, with the possible exception of my '06 Super Glide. I thought I wanted a smaller, more nimble machine than the '04 Electra-Glide Standard I was riding at the time because the bulk of my mileage came from a 104km round trip commute to work each day. Didn't do a whole lot of touring, so I figured why ride a touring rig. So I got the Super Glide. First thing I did was add a windshield, because I hate bugs in the face and straining to hold on to the bars in the wind. Then I got forward controls to stretch my legs out into a more comfy position. Then I got a set of hard saddlebags to store all my stuff in when I went to work or out on a weekend ride. Thought I was doing fine until one day someone commented that I had turned my Dyna into a mini-bagger and then it hit me... sh*t, I was trying to make a touring rig out of a cruiser. So I got the '07 Road Glide and I've been happy ever since.

Crud. Right bike or not, I've put fewer miles on my bike this past June that I did over the winter... Combination of things. Fortunately, not death.

It is funny that now though, I know less about what I'd consider the right bike for me than I did before I got my second bike.

It is nice to know, that you aren't stuck if you pick the wrong bike.

I have been having the same feelings about my bike,when I first got it,it was comfortable to ride,but since then my knees can't handle the angle they have to be at to ride,so I missed this whole season.
