i never got why people use the center stand to park their bike daily. it seems unstable, with a good enough bump it will roll forward right off the stand. my center stand makes it pretty stable though, could just be the type of center stand mine has is better than others. a guy parks a 500 ninja always on the center stand near my bike it looks like it will roll off or tip fairly easy.

why dont they make center stands lockable? isnt the main reason for them being there is to service the bike? dont want it rolling off the stand when your sitting on the ground next to it working. its not like you could forget its lockd and try to take off like you could with a sidestand. even if it was a simple latch that you needed to release before rolling off the stand.

Though high winds and bike covers do not go well together, I always use mine when I'm out on an overnighter. This, to tend to minimize the risks of theft and curiosity seekers taking liberties (even good natured parents have taken the liberty of placing one of their children in a bike's saddle they were walking by without getting the bike owner's permission.) Further, I'd rather the cover get damaged from windblown sand and other debris than the finish on my bike.
This could be why sometimes when I come back to my bike it has mysteriously gained a new scuff or scratch. I think I should invest in a cover.
