Not yet. For some reason I thought i couldnt get financed without my father co-signing. 10 minutes before i left to meet him at the dealership he called and said he would not co-sign. so I thought all was lost. But they called me today and checked my personal credit and approved me for the lowest apr possible. So things have turned around. I just gotta make sure i can afford the 130 bucks a month for bike insurance and garage fees during the school year.

BTW would 4500 after taxes and liscensing be a good offer? They already have them listed down to 4700.

New or used is a personal decision. I PERSONALLY feel like I can get a lot more bike buying used. There's thousands of people every year who buy new motorcycles and give them up after a year or three after having put very few miles on them - when I get a bigger bike later this year (hopefully this fall when it's raining and another crop of squids decides they shouldn't have spent all that money!), that's who I'll be searching for. The day might come when I see the perfect bike that I know I'll love forever and if I'm feeling flush maybe I'll treat myself. But for the forseeable future there's just way too many cherry used bikes on the market - I'll spend my savings on gear, accessories and trips to motorcycle shows  Knowing the maintenance history is great. But I can read an odometer and check compression and use my eyes and ears. If they'll let me test-drive it, that'll tell me a lot more than a pile of receipts from the mechanic.

Oops - I forgot to say good luck Nick. Careful on those new slick tires for a while. I hope you get the deal you're looking for.

Well good news!! I actually went and looked at this guys 1997 ex500 with 2500 miles on it. It needs a new rear turn signal (works but is taped closed) and possibly a new shift lever. But other then that its great. I rode it and it felt awesome. Bank was closed so im picking it up tommorow. anyone know of any sitse that are purely for the ex500 i need maintence info.
