Never were more truer words typed. My ex-boyfriend had one, same color actually. He got popped going over 80 on one of the bridges in San Francisco, he said it always felt just so comfortable and the ride was so smooth that he just was nt thinking he was going that fast.

Heh, heh. Reminds me of something Lion_Lady wrote about another inline-4 awhile back....

Yes the second generation K engines are smooth as silk but I think more to do with the superb fairing on the K bikes.

I don't think it's just K-bikes. Big-bore inline 4's are just smooooooth. Duck your head down behind the windshield at 90mph, and my Trophy barely seems like it's running. It just begs for more and more throttle. Verrrry easy to get into trouble -- :whistling:

(...now, just imagine what an R1 is like!!)

The first generation K-bike Brick fours were pretty buzzy. The Brick triples were actually much nicer.

Actually I was stressing the role of a well designed fairing in fooling one into thinking they are going much slower. Get on a nekked bike w/ an upright seating and you will know you are going fast regardless of how smooth the motor is.

Don't I know it. Done about 500 Kilometres on her so far and every time I get on, I amazed at the power that is available to me.

Took on the freeway and was cruising around 120 KPH and spotted a yo-yo in a cage in front sort of weaving between the lanes. Figured I'd like a little distance between him and me, so crack the throttle a bit and pass by him quickly, didn't even have to drop it down a gear. As I am humming long I happen to glance at the speedo....its reading 175 KPH and I'd could of sworn I was doing no more then 120, the bike was so smooth and firmly planted.

Today, coming home from giving my baby bro some needed cash, I had a clear run up Highway 17 to home. There is a nice sweeping bend just before my turn off that I usually do comfortably at 120 KPH on the old Sabre, today I noticed oops...I am doing 170 again and on a sweeping right hander.

If I am not very careful, this bike is going to get me into a lot of trouble with the speed tax collectors. Can't wait until I can take her on the Coq and really open her up.

Oh man I'm so envious, I could sell green beans. I love those bikes.
