You guys (and especially gals) are pretty good. The model shown is a 1958 TROPHYBIRD. It is a 650 twin with a *Amal "monbloc" carb. It is of "pre unit" construction. Here's a pic of the whole bike~

Also, it is designated by the rarer "high" pipe exhaust system.

I'm down in Norman OK currently, taking a class on some piece of postal equipment (APPS Phase 2) so I don't have access to my books. All I could tell from the picture is it's a post '55 model, and it's a nice bike. Sorry for being late.

Yes I think you are right.
From the pipes, it's probably a TR6C
Obviously from the pre-Unit days and the motor looks late 50ish/early 60ish.
I'm going to guess 1961 TR6C.
EDIT: Actually C had the dual scrambler pipes didn't it? The pic is cut off but this one has the 2 into one exhaust so it's not a C.
Excellent deduction! You are correct, it is a TR6

Wow great looking bike!
Yeah you can clearly see some details here that were hidden on the other pic.
Nice looking drip pan.

Although this guy doesn't seem to mark its spot.
How were those monoblocs? They were supposedly a noticeable improvement over the preceding Amals that used to cause as much pain and suffering as the Prince of Darkness.
I used to know a guy who used to claim that Amals did more to cause the demise of the British Motorcycle Industry than Prince of Darkness.
