i wasn't even seriously toying with the idea of getting a motorcycle when you joined TMW. you were already a well-established fixture here by the time i stumbled onto the site...old timer.

The FZ6 is one of my favorite bikes! Congrats! I was very seriously considering getting one of those (preferably the naked version). The FZ6 owners forum is pretty good too, very helpful bunch.

I have a feeling you will like this bike better than the B-king for the kind of riding you like to do.
Wut, no ABS....

The seats nice and cushy for my big butt, I can feel that already.

ABS, alas, may be a future bike. I didn't want to apply any cash except what I got for the B-King. There were only a couple bikes there with ABS. Next time around perhaps there will be more.

dean owens wrote:not sure if you already have a set of sliders or not... but i have a set of t-rex sliders i'm not going to use. i have an engine guard and they were going to be too much work to get them to be usable. i think i paid like $25.00 shipped to me. can't find them on ebay right now to verify that though. if you're interested i'll ship 'em to you for $25.00. just let me know. if not i was going to post them on craigslist and the fz6 forum to get 'em out of the way.
Thanks man ! The sliders are definitely of value and it might be fun to figure out how the engine guard can work on the bike.
A nice rubber coating that goes over the entire bike might help me out the most.

Do you have the service manual? I donwloaded it when I was considering getting an FZ6. I'd send it to you, but it's 18MB. Anyway, if you want a copy, it's easy enough to figure out a way to send it.

Plus, there's the "hard luggage speed radar invisibility" factor.....

The pricey part I'm a bit sensitive to right now. On the other hand, looking like a dork and making the bike as practical as possible are things that reverberate well with me.

I was trusting after a Givi case for the B-King - which was an impossibility unless I or someone else came up with a custom solution.

hey now.

you might want to watch yourself. those are fightin' words.
here's me at deals gap.

Awesome pic Dean! Sometime I'll get something like that. I was a little upset at the weather man today. "Oh the horror its gonna rain." - I didn't see any rain. Man, I could have taken my new ride in to work.

I think the biggest factor - of many with the B-King, was that it was just going to be so hard to do anything to it - without it costing large sums of money or involving large amounts of time. Once I really figured that out - it was done. It remains a nice bike, well mannered and with unique (good, I think) looks.
