My biggest concern has always been does it work at fast speeds. Even in the helmet you still have wind rushing around and on cheaper sets that is all you hear.

Well, you point out 1/2 of the problems I've been thinking about. I like wearing ear plugs and I can well imagine that wearing ear plugs and using one of these systems are exclusionary. One could hope that it would be something on the noise canceling type, but I doubt it.

Yeah, noticed that too. How can you stand it? After all, the FZ6 is quicker than . . . uh, pretty much anything on four wheels, barring some hyper-exotic sports car.

:specialannouncement: For tank bags, look at this:

attached to this:

Tank bag never touches the bike!! And it ain't coming off until you pull the locking mechanism--easy if you know how. (If you don't like that tank bag, there are other choices.) Whole thing covers up with a rain bonnet if you need to, although it is black, not clear. I will say that in high crosswinds, the map reader can rip from it's velcro bottom (it is well-attached at the top with snap-rings), but a bungie keeps that under control. I would consider rigging something more permanent if I were exposed to such winds regularly.

Oh, and for techie/gadget lovers (i.e., you, Rhadam!), it can be outfitted with a light.

Very interesting... I have to figure out how that is going to work on my bike - and exactly how refueling happens.

Don't you have to remove any tank bag to refuel? This one is dead easy: pull the cord attached to the lockpin, and it slides off. To re-attach, line up the horseshoe on the bag with the one on the gas cap (that you purchase separately, it is different for different bikes) and snap it back into place. Again, no contact with the tank whatsoever.

My old tank bag was easy to pop off - all magnetic. But it scratched my gas tank. I could get one again (I have no idea what happened to my old one), but I'd need to find that clear coating tank protector stuff before I got it.

If your main desire is to communicate with your wife when driving with her maybe consider using helmet speakers/mic with a pair of those FRS 2 way radios they are pretty cheap and work up to a few miles, also saves you the distraction of having other people call you while on your bike.
