Collecting a vehicle is tough. When I bought my 1992 Honda Civic I thought it was the most incredible vehicle. I could chirp the tires in to third gear and over the first three years I put over 100,000 miles on it.

I kept the car for 10 years, but I eventually got bored with it - and couldn't afford two cars. It sat in my driveway for a year or so after I bought my 2001 Honda Accord and then I donated it.

If you can afford to keep it and have garage space you should definitely keep it.
One day, about 10 years from now, that little Blast will look so cool and retro you will be so glad you still have it.
I wish I had it, it's adorable. Just put it in a zip lock bag in the back of your garage.

If they stuck around I most likely would have bought it for my first bike.

Although the look of it does remind me of the Dog Character from the Half Life video game.

I hear you Kuz about not wanting the Dealer to mess with your bike. There are 3 people in this world you need to keep happy - your spouse, your cook and your mechanic. Any of those 3 could do some serious damage to you if not fed and watered properly.

I "almost" like the looks of the Blast but the first thing I would do is rip off that plastic piece above the headlight. If I could have found one around here that wasn't beat all to Hades it would have been my first bike.

That's true, unless it's a rare or in prestige condition, you're going to get hassled.

You almost never get your ask, but about book value would let me get something else pretty easily without spending much more on top. I think I'm leaning toward just keeping it since thats a simpler, easier option until the next time I need to service it. As for the plastic piece on the front, thats what makes the bike handle so well. One of those ugly but good things.

If you're keeping it, you might as well use it to hone your mechanical skills. Get a service manual and do the services yourself, learning in the process for when you might do services to your more expensive bikes.

Long term I plan on doing my own or as much of my own service as I can. For now, its more a time and space issue, although I do have a new garage so the space part isn't in the equation anymore.
