Inexpensive option?

Put a strip of 1" wide electrical tape across the top of your faceshield. This will help to block sunglare just like the tinted strip at the top of your car's windshield.

No fancy helmet to buy (integral sun visor - Nolan N100E, Schuberth Concept, Bombardier Advanced Modular)

No clingy film to take care of

No messing around swapping tinted -> clear faceshields

No messing around changing glasses

Added benefit?

Easy to install

It works.

I've done this with my helmet faceshields (just got a new clear one after 2 1/2 years) and it makes a big difference. my eyes are very sensitive to the light and under normal circumstances I have to wear prescription sunglasses when out in the bright sun. with the strip of tape on my helmet, I can get away with my regular glasses on the brightest of days.

I'll post a pic of my helmet when I get a chance.

Wow! Cool idea. I've thought about buying some dark tint static cling window film at Wal-Mart. It's about $12 a roll. I've used it on car side windows with good results...might work this way, too. Not as a full shield, but in a strip across the top. I like the tape idea. WD-40 will take the adhesive off if that's a problem.

That's the beauty of using electrical tape. very little residue, if any. Not that you really need to take it off once you've put it on anyway, as the strip doesn't interfere with normal vision out the faceshield - it just cuts the sun glare.

That's what I did with my visors. The white glare on the side of my helmet in the second pic is a piece of Stealth reflective tape. under normal light it looks black, but when hit by bright light (like headllights or a flash) it reflects back bright white.

okay, you have a few options, you can get a stick on piece thats tinted that goes on the top of your visor, arai and others, and its worked exceptionally well, its called a sunblocker, you can order them through sierrabmw.com or you can call them at (775)355-0655, there the only place that Ive ever seen them, and best of all there cheap. (oh and there out of Sparks, Nevada, so its pacific standard time)

And in regards to those helmets with flip down visors behind the actual visor, they are made by schuberth, the C1 and C2, and Caberg/Jarrow (there the same company, Jarrow had to change distributors in the US and changed there name to Caberg) I know that theres one or two more, but those are the real good ones. Schuberths are pricey, 400-750+, but Cabergs are about 3ish if I recall correctly.
