I think you should be able to find the Suzuki and Honda used. Especially in the UK where you have graduated riding licenses. In the US the Honda Rebel is pretty easy to find used, but I haven't looked in a long time.

Go with the Hyosung and let me know how it is

I'm sitting in the totalmotorcycle office right now and all around me is motorcycle posters with UK 2010 models. The only small cruiser is the Suzuki Marauder 125. Mike says you should move to North America...where there's lots of choice for cruisers!

I rode the Maurader in my MSF course and thought it was good!

TMW tested the Kymco Venox 250 cruiser in Canada (I was one of the testers ) and it was brilliant! But I just checked their UK website and it isn't sold over here...

@sunshine229: I've seen loads of Marauders... I nearly had one, in fact. They're good bikes. Unfortunately, it's a 125, and I'm looking for a 250... No more, no less (well... Not much less, anyway). I wish that Kymco was available here, though... Looks good...

As my name implies I am also a newbie rider. That picture of the Hyosung looks sweet!!!! I started doing a little research on the 250cc hyosung bikes and came across a few sites. Korider.com is a website that talks all about hyosung bikes which i found was vary usefull. As i was reading up on information about the Hyosung 250cc cruiser another user on the forum mentioned that he bought one from this online auction site for a hell of a deal. the name was crankyape i believe. I looked into it a bit and they do have quite a few hyosung. I am not sure if they are a dealer or not though. The bikes description says bank repo but the bikes are brand new. How could this be??????

It says they also ship internationaly which is nice because i am from Cananda and am also looking for a bike in the 250 cc range. I have found a few hyosungs on ebay and Craigslist as well (I dont think Craigslist is interatinoal though). You should be able to get a good deal from sites similar to these as this is where i am going to end up buying one i am sure!

I was thinking about this topic earlier today while working on my certifications for Zuke again...
I know it's not a cruiser, but take a good hard look at the Suzuki TU250...
It's a standard, with a simple air-cooled 250cc motor. So it's newbie friendly powerwise, it looks old-school and cool, plus it's got fuel injection so no screwing around with carbs.

I own a 1997 Daelim Magma 125 CC, has plenty of power for the crowded streets of Seoul Korea. I don't know how hard it is to get outside of Korea, but it is a great beginner bike. Daelim has several bikes <250 cc:

Roadwin R250 - performance
Roadwin R125 - performance
Roadwin 125 - cruiser
Daystar 125 - cruiser (this model replaced my magma a few years back).

What do people in South Korea think of the bikes made in China?

Id like to give a "shout-out" to my 2006 cb250 honda nighthawk. Its a great bike for a beginner (i.e. , me) and great for around town. Not the best for the superslab tho. IT will do the speed, but any gust of wind feels like im getting knocked around pretty good.

Well I can't speak for everyone in korea, but most people think simmilar to americans in that they think china makes low quality products. In general they think Japan makes good bikes but most people either buy Korean or they spend a lot and buy a harley or a BMW (import taxes are very high here so if you don't buy Korean, you are going to pay a lot more for a bike than in the US)
