I can see this going very bad places depending on if you ask someone who wants to play practical jokes on you

And in the UK as well. Years ago I found a petrol station with a massive vending machine standing in the courtyard. Put your money in and it would deliver you a tin of live worms. Even more puzzling, the garage was in North Herts. North Herts is chalk downland, with not a river in sight.

From my point of view, among all languages the most beautiful is Spanish, English and French. I speak English, and I'm learning Spanish as well.

I didn't think anyone did any more. I learnt it as a kid. I don't know whether it was stupid, but it was bloody boring. It seems to have ended up being a bridge language used by the Chinese as a stepping stone to teaching English, since it is based on a simplified and regularised European-style grammar. (Not universal then.)

I love to Hong Kong or Chinese movies with subtitles- in Mandarin or Cantonese!
