Automatic motorcycles, yay or nay?

Horse for courses boys. I ride a dry clutch, a wet clutch and a CVT. The scooter is by far the best commuter and the easiest to ride.

AS for the new Viffer, "fudge" me , go ride it and you will soon change your mind, the way that thing changes gears just increases the fun factor.

The GS is slick compared to the R850R but the R has got low down grunt factor and leaves everything from robot to robot

So depends who I am on any given day

Have you ever ridden/driven anything where you can compare a CVT versus an automatic or a manual? I have driven cars and ridden quads that have both and operated both versions. CVTs are SLOW, with no pickup, and top speeds vary greatly depending on weight of the rider, aerodynamics of the rider that day, which direction the wind is blowing, and how well the engine is working on that day.
ABS I wouldn't mind if it was done right, like they're saying it is on the new 600RR. I know I can't brake as fast as the ABS can, but I can darn sure keep in the rev range a whole lot better than a CVT.

My bike has a Pingel Electric Shift and while I do use the clutch the Pingel can be set up where the clutch is not used...except for starting and stopping. Just push a button on the handle bar and up or down is the next gear. One positive point about the Pingel is a fast shift... the bike's coil is shorted killing the motor for an instant and and shift to the next gear without letting off the gas.

...very happy with my set up and no kill switch was installed ... Pingel also make air shifters for drag bikes
