Keep in mind this is a general statement. A 1000cc sportsbike will still corner better then a 1000cc cruiser, but it will do worse then a 600.
By way of example my bike, the honda hornet now has it's own separate class in Europe. Through the twisties it would dominate the standard 600cc machines. Shorter wheelbase and lighter weight etc. But in the straight lines the pure acceleration power of the 600 supersports would leave it in the dust. What I'm trying to say here is it all depends on what kind of riding you intend to do.
thats why i said 'city roads' obviously straight line is another issue, so i said 'city roads' which is mostly low speed tight corners.

Honda developed a 500cc inline 3-cylinder which, despite its lesser power output, is able to keep up with and even dominate the 600's in the Isle of Man and several sanctioned motorcycle races due to its light weight and "flickability". Any time you increase displacement you almost certainly have to stretch the bike's dimensions and increase the weight (barring an unlimited budget and access to space-age materials), so cornering ability can and will suffer.

If quick handleing is your top priority, get a dual sport or a supermotto machine. Put some good rubber on it, and NOTHING will touch it in any corner, bend or curve...... under 60-70 mph. Any faster and the multi-cylinder bikes have too great a power advantage for handleing to compensate for. In the city, the world is yours for the taking.....

You're going to have nightmares? I'm the one who has both BuzZz AND Zootech dreaming about me. It's time to start crying in the corner while holding my legs in the foetal position and rocking.
